commitment to excellence, for reporting news, feature, sports, and in-depth stories affecting Central High School and the surrounding community. Staff members work on a non-paid basis and are expected to meet strict deadlines, report stories that meet journalism standards and appeal to the readers of the Warrior Times.

Position: Webmaster for the 2001-2002 school year.
Building a website is time consuming and The Warrior Times is having difficulty keeping this website updated while at the same time producing and publishing a monthly newspaper. In the past this website was maintained and operated by one staff member but now The Warrior Times is seeking a second person to work on this Website. Applications are open for the position of Webmaster with The Warrior Times for the 2001-2002 school year.
Requirements:
Have aquired level of Journalism 1.
Have excellent teamwork skills.
Duties:
Maintaining The Warrior Times website, while making sure all content is appropriate for website viewers. Webmaster may redesign website for the 2001-2002 school year if desired. The job basically includes updating website after the publication of each monthly paper, this includes updating photos and posting new articles, while archiving the old ones. The job will also require Webmaster to have their work reviewed by the Director of Internet Development, who will usually make comments and suggestions on work. The position is fairly easy, Webmastering may be your only duty with The Warrior Times or one can take up part-time positions as a writer or photographer. Preference will be given to applicants with past experience with Internet Website Building, HTML and Javascript.
News Reporter and Assignment Writer:
The Warrior Times News Department is currently ran by Matt Schmalz our News Editor. The News Department was short-handed at the end of last school year and is seeking individuals who would be interesting in covering news in and around Central High School. Reporting News is the duty of a News Reporter, however, one can take up part-time positions as a Photographer, Feature Reporter, Sports Reporter, Ad Sales, or in the production of KCHS Television.
Requirements:
If you have aquired the level of Journalism 1 then you are perfect for this position.
Duties:
The duties of a News Reporter are fairly simple.
Reporters are expected to meet all deadlines and write at least two to three
stories a paper as assigned by news editor.
Participate in the collection of story ideas.
Reporters may have to use time during and after school to cover and write stories.
Conduct all interviews in a professional manner. Be willing to learn and use Macintosh computers, Adobe Pagemaker and our newly added publishing program, Quark.
Participate in some newspaper ads sales.
Reporters may have to participate in work nights, paper distribution, newspaper mailings and copy editing.

Feature Reporter and Assignment Writer:
Feature Reporters work under the advisement of Sarah Burns, our Feature Editor.
Position Requirements:

Feature Reporter duties are fairly easy and match to duties of News and Sports Reporters.
Reporters are expected to meet all deadlines and write at least one to two stories a paper as assigned by feature editor.
Participate in the collection of story ideas.
Reporters may have to use time during or after school to cover and write stories.
Conduct all interviews in a professional manner. Be willing to learn and use Macintosh computers, Adobe Pagemaker and our Quark, our newest publishing program.
Participate in newspaper ads sales.
Reporters may be required to participate in work nights, paper distribution, newpaper mailings and copy editing.
Feature Reporters may be assigned by Feature Editor Center Page Spread.

Sports Reporter and Assignment Writer:
Sports reporters face the challenge of covering major sports events from over a dozen Warrior Teams. Sports Reporters work as a team and are coached by Brianne Brennan, our Sports Editor and Sheana Garner, our Assistant Sports Editor.
Requirements:
Have completed Journalism 1
Duties:
Reporters are required to cover, report, and write about three to four articles about sports events, organizations, or an athlete that is standing out above the rest.
Participate in the collection of story ideas. Reporters are required to attend several sporting events.
Conduct all interviews in a professional manner. Reporters may have to use time during and after
school to cover and write articles.
participate in newspaper ads sales.
Reporters may be required to work on Sports Center Pages if assigned by Sports Editor.
Be willing to learn and use Macintosh computers, Pagemaker and Quark our new publishing program. Reporters may be required to participate
in work nights, paper distribution, newspaper mailings and copy editing during publications.

Assignment Photographer:
If you want to see the world through a lense then photography is for you. Warrior Times Photography is currently ran by William Moon our Photo Editor and Clayton Elliott, Assistant Photo Editor. Our department is currently staffed by our Photo Editor, Assistant Photo Editor, and a Staff Photographer. The workload is heavy and we are seeking individuals who would be interested in taking pictures for The Warrior Times for the 2001-2002 school year.
Job Description:
The job is fairly easy, going out into the field or around school taking News, Feature and Sports photos. While fulfilling the following duties:
Photographers are expected to meet all photo deadlines.
Photographers are required to label photos after development.
Photographers are required to participate in the collection of story or photo ideas.
Photographers must be willing to learn Adobe Photo Shop, Adobe Page Maker, our newly added publishing program named Quark, and use Macintosh Computers. Photographers may be
required to use time before, during, or after school for photo coverage.
Preference will be given to those who own camera equipment and have reliable transportation.
