C. Related Experience
1. Aerojet-General Corp.- 1961- 1964
--Project engineer in charge of developing inorganic and organic electrical insulation systems for the NASA-sponsored SNAP-8 project. Successfully developed an inorganic electrical insulation system for the SNAP-8 NaK pump motor, which was capable of operating 10,000 hours at a hot spot temperature of 1000 degrees F in a nuclear radiation environment.
--Monitored electrical insulation development work performed by subcontractors on the SNAP-8 project.
2. Southwest Research Institute- 1964- 1978
--Consultant to a Pennsylvania R/D firm which was developing an annular, linear sodium pump for use in the Engineering Test Reactor at Idaho Falls, Nevada. With assistance from the contractor's engineers, successfully developed an inorganic electrical insulation system for the above described sodium pump.
3. Union Carbide Corporation/ Nuclear Divison- 1953 -1961
--Developed advanced organic electrical insulation systems for chemical process motors ranging in size from 5 hp to 2,000 hp.
--Investigated failures of process electrical motors to determine the cause of failure and to determine what corrective actions, if any, should be implemented to prevent future failures.
