New information has surfaced regarding the first of Hideo Kojima's two PS2 titles, Zone of Enders (Details on the other game are pretty sketchy, but our crack research team has discovered that it will center around the exploits of a "spy snake"). Kojimax (as we like to call him) has revealed that in addition to the indiscriminate butt-kicking nature of it's gameplay and storyline, the game will also sport a versus/fight mode, where players can duke it out with their friends or significant others in the blazing mechtastic glory of the ZOE universe. As for the game's Japanese release, Konami has announced plans to offer a limited edition set of ZOE copies, where, for ¥13800 ($121 approx.), one can expect to take home a box full o' such goodies as:
· Zone Of Enders -- The PS2 Game (natch)
· 200 Page Data Guide Booklet (Includes original illustrations from the game and the anime)
· ZOE 2167 OVA: ZOE Anime Film -- Stand-alone value of ¥5800 ($50 approx.)
· ZOE Music Sampler
· One Life-Size Mech Blow-Up Doll, Now for the pièce de résistance; No MGS2 Demo.
Needless to say, this comes as devastating news for import gamers (import loyalists on our staff are munching lightbulbs as we speak), but rest assured that the US release of ZOE will feature the full playable demo as promised. Upon being asked for comment on the situation, Kojima replied, "You'll take it and you'll like it, skankface". Well, he didn't really say that, but you get the idea.
