New reports from the Japanese-based gaming publication, The Nihon Keizai Shimbun have now confirmed that several PlayStation 2 titles have reached passed the 300,000 mark in terms of units shipped out.
Koei Co. has been said to ship out up to 330,000 copies of Kessen II, with Konami shipping out 400,000 copies of its PlayStation 2 soccer title, Winning Eleven 5. Bandai's Gundam title has shipped with 470,000 copies, with Square shipping out 500,000 copies of The Bouncer. Both Gundam and The Bouncer debuted in December 2000 in Japan.
It seems that people in Japan may finally be purchasing more PlayStation 2 software rather than just DVD movies. We will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
