Where Is The Team That Won The Cup?
10/14/01
Last night's Avs game was the most painful thing I've ever seen....
I know all teams can have a rough start. And we have alot of rookies this season. But god--4 to 0? Against the Canucks?? For the record, I hate the Canucks. I think the whole team is a bunch of sore losers.
Bob Hartley. Why does he tinker with the lines? You get amazing, cup-winning chemistry with the Sakic-Tanguay-Hejduk line. And what do you do? Dismantle it!
If something works--leave it alone! Why is that so hard? Lines seem to be a difficulty with him. I distinctly remember some close calls during the playoffs--too many, because of his problems with the lines and who he puts out at a given time. Mess around with the third and fourth lines all you want, but leave your stars together!
And no one can tell me we aren't feeling the loss of Deadmarsh now that we lost Forsberg too. You have no pushy forwards. Sakic, Hejduk, Tanguay, they are speed and agility. Hinote and Nimienen are pushy--but they don't score as much as Deadmarsh did.
Along those lines, I'll bet the Kings laugh all the way to the playoffs. It's no secret I can't stand Rob Blake, but it's becoming painfully apparent that he is *nothing* without Bourque. The guy body-checks with his *ass* because his shoulders are gone--what does that say about a player? And he can't admit to his own mistakes--blames the younger defensemen for the loss against the Oilers, and then gives up three goals himself. I know my boy Skoula is the team whipping boy, but come on, Blake deserves a good portion of the blame. Reinprecht, well, that never made any sense to me. I've seen nothing to back up the initial assessment. We've got boys in Hershey just like him. We got screwed and now we can't even trade Blake back.
