The Eagle Valley Girl's Basketball Club of Eagle, Colorado (aka The SWISH) was founded in the winter of 1999 by Club Director, Tom Verderber. The SWISH is a fully insured Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) / Basketball Congress International (BCI) sanctioned club offering middle school and high school aged girls the opportunity to participate in a competitive environment. The SWISH strives to develop basketball skills and to raise the level of play of its female athletes within a team concept. This is accomplished by using experienced coaches and by playing against quality competition. Of equal importance is the development of its athletes as young women. A member of the SWISH will learn teamwork, enhance her basketball skills, develop character and, most importantly, learn proper sportsmanship. During the past three seasons, the SWISH has benefited 60+ young ladies residing along the Colorado I-70 corridor from as far east as Minturn, Colorado and as far west as the Colorado River Road area. Adult staff is typically comprised of 2 coaches per team with 1 club director. During each of the past three seasons the SWISH has been positioned to sponsor two teams per tournament. The SWISH 'Winter Teams' typically compete in tournaments held within the high-country and Western Slope regions of Colorado. The 'Select Summer Team' has participated in the Mid-American Youth Basketball (MAYB) circuit, competing in tournaments along Colorado's Front Range. Our goals are simple: TO LEARN, TO HAVE FUN and TO BE COMPETITIVE. For further information on "The SWISH", please E-mail us at the address below.
