The World of Atlantis
How Adventuring in the World of Atlantis Works:
(What? You're unfamiliar with Tunnels and Trolls? Email the GM for details)
- Roll up your character as normal for Tunnels and Trolls. Check out the Animated
Online Dice Roller if you don't have any dice handy! Or even better go to to get a great character generator.
- Pick your kindred, your sex, come up with a physical description, and pick your beginning skills. Click here for some examples of skills and how they work.
- Create a general background. If you are having trouble, email me, the GM, for help.
Your background will help me place your character within the world. Since Atlantis is based on our world's myth and legends you may pick any culture you like and stand a reasonable chance of being placed in a close Atlantis version. (Caution cultures are similar but not necessarily the same as those in our actual history. Within this world Atlantis did not sink, and survived to continue to influence other, younger cultures.) Do not hesitate to ask for help.
- Pick out equipment. Check out the central markets of Atlantis to find what you need. (Warning not all goods are always available. Some goods are seasonal.) Then check out the newly opened Bowyer Corner for your every archery need. Next door a black smith is setting up shop. Soon the Armory will be open for business.
- Further, I have some rules for psionic/psychic powers. Every character has a small chance of possessing some psionic gifts. Check out my rules for psionics.
- Finally, email the GM with the semi finished character. You can find the email link up at the top with the GM's name (me). Just remove the [stopjunkmail] portion of the email address.
- The character will be reviewed. You will receive back the final character with brief general knowledge notes.
- The first turn should be received shortly after.
- I will email turns as often as possible. Mostly, this depends on how many adventures I am handling and my personal free time. After all this is a free PBEM game, and I play it for fun (motto: “Life Before Role Playing”).
- Here are some of other house rules that increase the complexity. Do not use these rules for anything other than adding a little spice to the game for when everyone needs something different.
- Is there a Doctor in the Dungeon? He looks awfully hurt!
