Step one: Cut two blocks 1 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 inches and one square 1 1/2 x 1 1/2. I used green for the center piece and maize for the outer pieces.
Step 2 sew pieces together. Iron seams to the outside.
Unit one is finished!
Cut background fabric 6x6 inches and 2 squares 2x2 out of fabric A on unit 1. Place on corners and sew as shown.
Cut 2 more squares of the background of unit 1 and attach to the bottom of the block as shown.
Unit two is done!
Sew unit 1 to unit2
