STOP THE DEPORTATION

[Editor's note: I heard Dr. Eldad when he was in Washington recently. His medical group has always treated Jews and Arabs impartially and with equal skill. Admittedly, he was indignant that the Arab woman, to whom his hospital had donated skin grafts, showed her appreciation by trying to kill as many hospital patients as she could. Considering how the IDF and police have been handling ordinary citizens exercising their civil right to protest the Gaza retreat plan, I took him seriously when he said that there will be a great need of field hospitals, when the IDF takes on the task of expelling thousands of Jews from their homes.]

Dear Friend of Israel,

We are appealing to Jews around the world to help fund a great Mitzvah.

Member of Knesset Professor Arieh Eldad is building two field clinics. One will be in Gush Katif and the other in northern Shomron.

Each costs approximately $25,000.00. The clinics will provide primary care for the tens of thousands of Jews who will be gathered in these areas during the struggle to stop the deportation. Sadly, many of these people will need primary care physicians, nurses, pediatric care, medications, and basic first aid for injuries and common diseases. The events of the past week bear this out in spades. If we are unable to provide these services, those injured or sick will have to leave in order to get needed medical attention, and they will not be allowed back in to their families and friends in the areas closed for deportation.

We will rely heavily on local volunteers, will also have physicians and nurses from the US who have promised to give us their expertise. We expect that each clinic will be able to treat up to 200 patients every day. If G-D forbid we will have severe casualties, they will receive only first aid stabilizing treatment in these clinics and then we plan to evacuate them by ambulances or helicopters to hospitals.

This is a monumental and very necessary undertaking. Please open your hearts to the brave chalutzim of Gush Katif and Shomron -- they have protected the land for K'lal Yisrael -- it's time to give them our support.

All funds raised will be handed over to MK Eldad for this project.
