DECEMBER, 2001

Auntie Elaine & Punky visited just before X-Mas 2001. Then, our whole fandamily trekked to TEXAS. Drew & the Annas visited Anna B’s parents, in Lubbock. The rest of us descended upon Steve & Jodi’s home north of Houston.

JANUARY, 2002

Luper (my oldest) had a SEIZURE on the 7th! ‘Twas actually the second one she’s had – the first was 2 years ago, and we never figured out what caused it. We don’t know what caused this one, either. But, since she only seems to have one every 2 years, she’s not on any meds.

I finally went in for my first MAMMOGRAM! What a treat! … NOT!!!
Those machines were obviously designed by someone sporting TESTICLES.
I think MEN should have to get “GONADOGRAMS” – using THOSE machines!!!

Gosh. Those are the “high points” of JANUARY. Aren’t you happy that I SHARE?!

FEBRUARY, 2002

I traveled to Chicago for all of EIGHT HOURS of ONE day, to do a deposition for a case there. (It’s rather “expensive” for them to put me up overnight … they have to pay me while I SLEEP!) Between preparation the day before, travel and testimony on the day OF, I have to take the next day OFF to recuperate! LOL.

Ooh! I began work on a NEW WEB SITE for Steve’s South Texas OUTBACK STEAKHOUSES. (My Baby Bro, in Houston, Texas.) It’s a PRIVATE site – only for Steve’s employees – and revolves mainly around the TEXAS WALKABOUT meetings that he’s developed. (“Retreat” sort of management meetings, designed to inspire and encourage his people to run the BEST Outback Steakhouses on the planet!) I think he’s done a helluva job. If you like: Check it out! My Dad (the seated singer) performed his LAST GIG with the Professional Choir, Soli Deo Gloria Cantorum … Singing with only the Men of the Choir at a special concert in Lincoln, on February 24th. If you want to read more about the choir, and see some more pix, CLICK HERE!

Now, he and Mum (Carol) are entirely free to romp about in their RV!

MARCH, 2002

Ooh! I attended my first-ever CEILI (“KAY-lee”)!!! – an evening of Irish Folk Dancing! These evenings include LESSONS and a live band, all arranged and sponsored by the Lincoln Irish Dancers! To see more pix from the Ceili (and learn more a bit about the LIDs) CLICK HERE!

On March 15th, I drove to Kansas City to attend the JEMS EMS Today 2002 Conference … meet my new Brady Editor … and to rendezvous with the GERMAN paramedic I originally met in Denver, at the 1999 JEMS EMS Today.

APRIL, 2002 – I only know the “real” birth date for ONE of my children: Jean Pierre Rampal was born on April 4th, 2000. So … ALL my kidz celebrate their Birthday on APRIL 4TH each year now!

Guadalupe (“Luper”) is 15 YEARS OLD! (What is that? 60 in Human years?)

Jellylorum (“Jelly”) is 13.

Sylvia (“Sylvie”) is 9.

And, Jean Pierre (“Bitty” … or “Stopitstopitstopit!”) is 2 Years Old!

I traveled to the Lake of the Ozarks to present at the Missouri ICE Society (Instructor/Coordinator/Examiner)’s conference. They’re a division of the Missouri EMT Association (MEMSA). ‘Twas a grand conference!

BTW: In almost EVERY month of 2002, I taught 3-hour EMS Continuing Education programs for various Volunteer Fire & Rescue organizations (those within about an hour’s drive from Lincoln). The Nebraska State EMS Department offers Grant funds to pay for these classes. I write as many Grant Applications as I can, so that I can provide these organizations with “FREE TRAINING,” yet still get PAID for it! I think it’s a great system. And, I really luv teaching for these Folkz.

Whoah – HO!!!! I FINALLY finished the 4th Edition of my EMT-P Self-Test book!!! Unfortunately, BRADY has delayed publication of the text (for “internal budget requirement” reasons). And, it won’t be available until SUMMER of 2003!

OH! I finally got to see a LIVE PERFORMANCE of RIVERDANCE! In LINCOLN, of all places! If you’ve never attended this show – YOU MUST!!!

MAY, 2002

The 2002 James Arthur Vineyard Renaissance Festival!!! The JAV Ren Fest remains my FAVORITE Ren Fest, because we get to PARTICIPATE!!! Ribboning … “Marking” … “WUBBYING!!!!” … We even did “Braveheart” FACE PAINT this year!!!

I skipped the Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ren Fest (omygawd)! So, June was a fairly quiet month. I worked on a couple restraint asphyxia cases, and worked on my Web Site.

I also traveled to Milwaukee for a few days, to do some work for the Crisis Prevention Institute. I’m a member of their “Medical Issues Awareness Advisory Board!”
