Colorado Scenery - Yule Marble Quarry Area

bar

To get here you must first go to Marble, Colorado, then go to the south part of town and cross the Crystal River. The dirt road is wide, smooth and in excellent condition since they have reopened operations at the quarry. The drive from the town of Marble to the parking lot at the quarry is approximately four miles.

The marble mined here was used for the exterior of the Lincoln Memorial and for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and many other municipal buildings in New York and San Francisco. It is highly prized world wide for it's quality and color by fabricators and artisians alike.
