Congratulations Jamie Sale & David Pelletier on winning the Olympic Gold Medal in Pairs Figure Skating, in Salt Lake 2002, despite some controversy! Your fans are proud of you! GO CANADA!!!
Ever since watching the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehamer, Norway, I've basically been hooked on figure skating. First it was Ekaterina Gordeeva & Sergei Grinkov, Kurt Browning, Oksana Bauil. Then it was Tara Lipinski, Shae-Lynn Bourne & Victor Kraatz, and Elvis Stojko. Now its Jamie Sale & David Pelletier (see picture at right), Sarah Hughes, Angela Nikodinov, Bourne & Kraatz, Michelle Kwan, and more.
On March 24, 2001 I had the privelege of attending the 2001 World Figure Skating Championships, in Vancouver, Canada. It was SO much fun! All my current favorites, as well as many others, were there It was such a thrill!
As a direct result of this experience (i've also been to Stars on Ice once) I decided to take skating lessons! For most of my life I had never been able to stand up on the ice, but I decided to go for it! It was so much fun, and I discovered that skating really isn't that hard. I can now stand up, skate forward, skully, stop, skate backwards ( but not very well), and do all the basics. I feel confident and don't have to hold onto the wall anymore! Now all I need to do is get myself to the Worlds! hehe. Just kidding.
Congratulations Sarah Hughes on winning the Olympic Gold Medal in Women's Figure Skating at Salt Lake! You wowed us all girl! Way to go!
