New Apartment in Seoul

Outside 1.JPG (76558 bytes)Here's our new house in Seoul.  Our apartment is the one on the third floor with the blue and green Christmas lights.  We live up on "The Hill" in Itaewon, an international district known for its shopping area and the numerous foreign embassies.  We found out we're about 100 yards away from the Kuwaiti embassy and about two blocks from the Belgian and Qatar embassies.  No wonder we always see limousines driving past the house!

Luckily, things are usually quiet.  You wouldn't believe we live in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the world.  We've got our own covered parking space in the area on the ground floor.  We go shopping at a tiny market up the road from us where the shop owner lives in a single tiny room adjacent to the market.

Living Room.JPG (56727 bytes)  We really think we're spoiled because our living room here is about the size of our entire apartment in Waegwan.  Tigger's very happy with all the room to run around and she can't get used to the fact that she has no brakes on our hardwood floor.

Our new place is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment and we figure it's about 1300 sSpare Bedroom.JPG (44519 bytes)quare feet.  Our rent is 3.2 million Korean won a month, which works out to be about $2640/month at the current exchange rate.  Thank goodness the Army's picking up that tab!  Anyway, we've got plenty of room for guests and a queen-size bed in the spare bedroom, so feel free to stop in for a visit!

Take a look at some of these other pictures of our new apartment...

We've got a large jetted tub and an electric bidet in the master bathroom and a huge shower in the second bathroom.  We've made our third bedroom into the computer room because it's too small for anything else.  And here is the city view we wish we had...
