An Agoraphobic's Prayer by Eileen Power
I'm an agorabphobic, Lord,
Keep me in your care,
Give me hope and give me strength,
To overcome my fear.
Quieten my racing heart,
Lord, steady my trembling hands,
For you know very well, Lord,
I make very few damands.
No, I never ask for much,
just peace of mind, that's all,
A day to walk without trembling.
I don't even ask that
every day be anxiety free,
Just once in a while, so I can feel
A sense of liberty.
Let others understand me,
when I try to explain my fears,
Give me a shoulder to cry on,
A hand to dry my tears.
You know how strong I am, Lord,
despite what I go through,
I'm sure that you have seen my doubt,
Yet I've always muddled through.
So bless me, an Agoraphobic,
Lord, as I go about my day,
Keep me ever by your side.
