Oh Death, I Stared At You In The Face
Death, oh death, why do you invade my thoughts?
Death, you think I will call upon thee?
no, I am trying so hard not to. why, oh why,
when people die, their eyes are open?
they stare into space or so we contemplate
in deep silence but they just stare at
you in amazement, they can't talk back,
you think you are a friend when you are a foe.
When the time comes, you go, you
go silently and stand there as if
you were visiting an old friend,
you want the ones you come visit and take
to just look at your
face and they die with their
eyes open, you tortorous one.
Did I invite you into my thoughts?
who told you to come visit me?
you are all over me but I won't
invite you for a visit, it is too
early. You are an independent
entity and I am just human. I do
not understand you, I command you to leave, I
do not wish to look at your face,
it is too early in the game, just
too tortorous you are. Get out
of my brain, Death,
I already know what you look
like, I looked at you straight
in the face years back but you
didn't get me, I won over you and
now, I order you out of my head,
don't you see? God didn't say for
you to come and pay me a visit, you took it
upon yourself. Death, oh death,
eternal peace, leave me be, I know what
your countenance is like, just bathe my
palms in the rasp of wine and don't come visit me
till the time is right.
