Splotched
This example of a Splothced tiger stripe shirt is typical. The fabric is a heavy combed cotton... It's almost stiff to the touch. I found this shirt on-line, however, it was purchased with several other items.
The back panel has a bit more fade to it. As you can see by the pattern, it certainly does have a "splotched" appearance compared to a Late War pattern. They look very similair when side by side.
Any ideas what this patch signifies? Halao Bac Tien 838? As you can see it's hand sewn on with white thread. .
Here is the size stamp marked in the shirt. It's in a very unusual place however. Instead of the standard neck location, this large "L" is stamped down in the lower right front panel of the shirt (the side with the buttons). I was surprised to find it there of all places. Even though the shirt is marked as a "large", the size is still rather small. There is nothing that would indicate it being an Asain size, but it must be an Asain Large; and the shoudlers measure 40".
