The CZW World Television Title History
The CZW World Television title was created Feb 7th 2008, and the first TV Champion won the title on Feb 28th 2008 with Ronnie McNeil beating Scotty Simon in his last CZW appearance.
In London, Shawn Waters defeated Ronnie in a ladder match to become the 2nd TV champ, but got destroyed by Ronnie's debuting stable "X-Ellence" afterwards.
Shawn held the title until July 10th, when Cage Stryker won the title from him in Phoenix, Arizona. Stryker proceeded to defend the belt with pride, highlighting the reign with a win in a 5 man ladder match. He held the title until HATEWAVE, where he lost the belt to Jordan Bryant in the BARBED WIRE RING ROPES, LADDERS, TABLES and CHAIRS match! Jordan held the belt until Extreme Intervention, where his ankle was sprained so bad he could not defend the belt and the title was vacated. Eric Collum became the next TV champion, winning it on October 2nd.
Jesse Montana added a stipulation for the world title match at Evil Intentions that both the TV and WHC would be defended and whoever won would have to vacate one of the titles. Eric Collum won the world title and vacated the TV title. A tournament was held to name a new champion, which ended with a three way dance at Volatile Day between Brian Blaze, Ronnie McNeil, and Mike King. "Mr. Entertainment" then proceeded to win the vacant title.
Ronnie McNeil became the first 2-time World TV champion on March 21st, 2009 defeating heated rival Brian Blaze in Salt Lake City, Utah. He decided not to pick up his option on his CZW contract, and was given permission to relinquish the title back to Brian Blaze in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 4th.
Brian defended and held the title in numerous title matches, until June 13th in Spokane where one-half of the Kaiju Warriors and CZW Original J.A. "Godzilla" Sawyer defeated him for the title.
Sawyer has now become not only the longest reigning TV champion, but the longest reign of ANY champion as well. At There Will Be Blood, he successfully retained the belt in CZW's first Electric Asylum match, against Tim Timmons and Rob Wright.
Sawyer's record setting title reign was finally ended at Road To Glory III, where CZW Original "The God of War" Caleb Walker pinned him with his feet on the ropes.
Caleb held the title until Winnipeg, where Mike Monroe defeated him as he was distracted by "Flawless" Frank Finch after TNG turned on Montana the show before and aligned with The Jackal.
At Summer Showdown, Mike wasn't even involved in a match as he was in the corner of Tatum Regan in her hair vs. hair match. After Tatum won, Lauren STILL shaved her head and Havok beat on Monroe until Rob Wright made the save... or so we all thought! Rob then cashed in his MITB briefcase on the fallen Mike, and became the new TV champ!
Rob held the title until he faced another CZW original, Krimzon Blaze, in an epic one on one encounter. After a great back-and-forth match, Krimzon Blaze nailed a top rope Holy Shot to capture the World Television title.
Rob got a rematch at the following Horrorcore PPV, along with the man HE dethroned, Mike Monroe, who successfully persuaded General Manager Theresa Baines to make the match a No-Escape Cage Match. In a brutal contest (that actually saw Blaze forced to break into the cage after being locked out by Wright!), no man came away without some sort of injury.. crucially though, it was Mike Monroe who came away with the title belt, after hitting an incredible "Flaming Double Stomp" off the top of a ladder onto the Real Deal!
Mike Monroe was forced to vacate the title after his match against Buzzsaw in Osaka, Japan. With explosives in the mix, it's no wonder one of these maniac didn't die. The title was stripped and booked to be contested for in a four way dance on the following show in Nagoya.
In Nagoya, Rob Wright defeated Tim Timmons, Mountain Man, and Ian Chadwick to become a two time champion.
The title was vacated when the company was temporarily closed. Jigga C became the new champion when he defeated Tim Timmons and Jason X in Philadelphia.
Jigga would hold the title for just over 3 months until December 24th, when he was defeated in a brutal "Smoke and Mirrors" match by Uprising member Mason Kaid. The controversial Kaid would hold the belt - unofficially renaming it the "Kill Your TV" Title - for nearly 2 months, before losing it at the Desperate Times PPV to British superstar Daniel Ward.
