Orphaned as a young child in Egypt, Ororo Munroe traveled Africa as a young woman, when her powers over the weather began to develop and she joined the X-Men. She and T'Challa, the Black Panther, jointly ruled the ancient African kingdom of Wakanda until its destruction.
