Shiro Yoshida was raised by his xenophobic uncle to be a mutant weapon against America. When the scheme was thwarted by the X-Men, Shiro put aside his distrust to join them. Though a hard man to befriend, Sunfire's arrogance is deserved: he can convert radiation into intense heat, allowing him to fly and project blasts of superheated plasma.
