Don Martin showed up at that comic show quite unexpectedly. He sat down at the artists table across from me and asked some of the other artists just exactly does one do at these shows. I believe it was John Byrne who told him about sketches. Martin borrowed a few sheets of paper and a marker and did two or three sketches which he gave away for free and left soon after. I was lucky enough to get one of the sketches.
