 The
Character
Ace, the bat dog, as Terry calls him, is Wayne's
devoted pet. Fiercely guarding his master he has always been there
when Wayne required his help. Adopted by Wayne, one dark night,
not much is known about his life. However we learn more about him
in subsequent episodes, like Ace in the hole. The true nature of
Ace's valor is seen in Return of The Joker, where he comes to Batman's
rescue more than once, single handedly taking on The Joker and providing
the valuable distraction Terry needed. So when the going gets tough
it's Ace to the rescue.
Parallels
and Thoughts
While Batman of old didn't ever keep a dog or any
pet, Wayne with a pet dog does seem heartening. Ace also reminds
one of Diablo, Sagan's dog in Phantom 2040.
