 The
Character
Curare was dispatched to kill D.A. Sam Young, as
per the orders from the League of Assassins. The league is an elite
force of killers who kill for the highest bidder. Armed with a sword
capable of cutting through anything, the Gotham Police are no match
for her. But then she hasn't met Batman yet! At the end of her first
appearance she is hunted by the League for failure to complete her
task, but she returns with a vengeance to hunt down all members
of The League of Assassins only to be stopped by Batman again.
Parallels
and Thoughts
While Curare is more reminiscent of Kyodai Ken , Bruce's
old ninja enemy that he trained with, this isn't the first time
Batman tangled with the League of Assassins. Batman tangled with
the League, comprising of three ninjas, in the story "The Wall"
in Batman #431 (March 1989). The story involved a similar theme
where the League was sent to eliminate a D.A.(coincidence!).Besides
this the League of Assassins and Curare remind one of the creepy
Society of Shadows in BTAS.
