She was the Vamp who turned Liam into Angelus, and for over 100 years they were lovers, then Angel got a soul and they parted. They met again in Sunnydale, where Angel was looking after Buffy, and Darla was still in The Masters inner circle. Angel turned her into dust when she tried to kill Buffy, but was brought back from Hell by Wolfram & Hart. She was a the tool to make Angel evil again, but when Drusilla turned her into a vampire again, she had a lot of time to make up. Angel threatened to kill her next time they, but when she turned up carrying his baby, the story changed. Darla dusted herself so their baby could live. She came back at a ghost to warn her son that the path he was taking would only lead to evil and she didn't die for him to turn out like her. Her words were ignored by her son however and it took Angel placing him into a new home to save him.

Born in Pennsylvania, Julie Benz's father is a Pittsburgh surgeon, her mother an ice skater. The family settled in nearby Murrsyville, PA when Julie was two. Julie turned to acting and got involved in the local theater where she got a role as an extra in the movie Street Law. After graduating from high school, Julie entered New York University to study acting. Since graduating and moving to LA she has taken many roles and was recently seen in Taken.
