Gunn was introduced in Angel's first season as a street-kid on a mission, to kill the vampires of LA. After his first meeting (and almost stakeing) of Angel, Gunn's life took a turn for the better, he finally found a friend, somebody who understands what its like to have to kill the evil that stalks behind the shadows. After his sisters death the fight becomes personal, and Gunn must face his own inner demons and doubts, which has been helped by his budding relationship with Fred. This relationship failed however when he ended up killing for her, saving her from the dark side of herself. She had a short fling with Gwen, the girl with the electric touch, but now has a new responsability of being head of a street fighting devision of Wolfram and Hart.

Richards was the first American child born into his Panamanian family, and was born and raised in Maryland. He discovered his love for acting early and was soon enrolled into a Performing Arts High School. He was a good student and was determined to move to LA to persue his career. He was accepted into the University of Southern California on a full scholarship and soon after graduating began a full time acting career. In his free time he enjoys painting, traveling and astronomy.
