ORIGINAL WAVEDANCERS

AILSA

Ailsa was the Recognized lifemate of Brom and the mother of Raenafel. She had long white hair and her soulname was Kye. Ailsa died during childbirth and was returned to the sea by Brom.

AUSRA

Ausra was one of the High Ones who founded the Wavedancers colony along with Desh, Livian, Sima and an unknown fifth member. Ausra was the first leader of the Wavedancers.

BARMEK

Barmek was the son of Kirith and Rhialdor and the brother of Jormak. He Recognized Raenafel when he was still a "pip" and was denied the completion of Recognition for many turns. Raenafel was sent away to avoid the "curse of Recognition" and as a result Barmek suffered. He and Sleia left just after the arrival of Winnowill, disguised as Raenafel, at the Wavedancer Cavern and went looking for her. Barmek had sandy blonde hair and brown eyes. His soulname was Lyr.

BROM

Brom was the father of Raenafel and the Recognized lifemate of Ailsa. He and Kirith hid Raenafel away after she was born and told the tribe that she had died at birth along with Ailsa. Brom originally had black hair, which later turned grey after his Recognition to Ailsa and green eyes. Brom later died of old age. He was the son of Neama and the third Wavedancer leader.

BURDEKIN

Burdekin was the lifemate of Zadori. He had pale red hair and brown eyes and was one of the storytellers in the tribe.

DESH

Desh was a High One and one of the founders of the Wavedancer colony along with Ausra, Livian, Sima and an unknown fifth.

HYFUS

Hyfus was the Recognized mate of Tilaweed and the father of a pip, Illora, who was stolen by the curse of Recognition. He was the leader of the Wavedancers after Brom's death. Hyfus had long white hair, green eyes and a rust colored merman's tail.

ILLORA

Illora was the daughter of Hyfus and Tillaweed, who was stolen by the Curse of Recognition.

INKBOTTOM

Inkbottom was the son of Kadva and Shoseabee and the half brother of Sleia. He had brown hair and blue eyes and was often found playing with Shoresprout.

IRRALEE

Irralee had wavy dark gray hair with red highlights and one green eye and one reddish-brown eye.

JORMAK

Jormak is the brother of Barmek and the son of Kirith and Rhialdor. Jormak had rust colored eyes, long black hair and a scar on his cheek. He was a loner in the tribe and was the first to find the "new" Raenafel. Jormak gave himself completely to Winnowill, even giving her his soulname, Kryb.

KADVA

Kadva was the lifemate of Shoseabee and Lazik, and the father of Inkbottom. He had brown hair with a black streak and dark blue eyes.

KIRITH

Kirith is the tribe's birther and was the one who raised Raenafel in secrecy. She was the lifemate of Rhialdor and the mother of Jormak and Barmek. Kirith had blonde hair, which she kept up in a net, brown eyes and a blue-green mermaid's tail. She was blinded by a dream just before Winnowill arrived at the Grotto and it was returned when Barmek came back to the Wavedancers with the real Raenafel.

KORILLA

Korilla was the tribe's food preparation for all feasts. She had red hair, purple eyes and her lower body was that of an octopus. Her mother had passed through a pool of magic when she was pregnant, which resulted in Korilla's lower body.

LAZIK

Lazik is the lifemate of Kadva and Shoseabee and the father of Sleia. He had brown hair and blue eyes.

LIVIAN

Livian was one of the founders of the Wavedancers colony along with Ausra, Desh, Sima and an unknown fifth. She was also a high one.

MARON

Maron is the lovemate of Paffa. He was one of the storytellers of the tribe and had silver-gray hair which was braided into multiple braids. He had dark blue eyes.

NEAMA

Neama was the second leader of the Wavedancers, the daughter of Ausra and the mother of Brom.

PAFFA

Paffa is the lovemate of Maron and has long black hair with a white streak and amber colored eyes.

RAENAFEL

Raenafel is the daughter of Brom and Ailsa and the next leader of the Wavedancers by birthright. She was hidden away by her father after she was born and the tribe was told that she had died at birth along with her mother. She had long black hair and purple eyes, with similar looks to Winnowill. She left the ocean after Barmek found her and she Recognized him to find the Palace of the High Ones. Her quest led her further and further inland and away from water. No-Wing, the Wavedancers Preserver, accompanied her and wrapped her up when she could no longer continue. Sleia found her cocoon and cut her out and reunited her with the water. She then Recognized Barmek completely and journeyed with him and Sleia back to the Grotto to tell the tribe of the imposter. Raenafel was also a healer. Her soulname was Zoh.

RHIALDOR

Rhialdor was the lifemate of Kirith and the father of Jormak and Barmek. He had long brown hair and brown eyes.

SHORESPROUT

Shoresprout had rumbled red hair, green eyes and an impish grin.

SHOSEABEE

Shoseabee was the lifemate of Kadva and Lazik and the mother of Sleia and Inkbottom. She had short fawn colored hair and gold eyes.

SIMA

Sima was a High One who was also a founder of the Wavedancer colony along with Ausra, Sima, Desh, Livian and another unknown.

SLEIA

Sleia is the daughter of Shoseabee and Lazik and the friend of Barmek. She travelled with him to find Raenafel and return her to the Grotto. Sleia had brown braided hair and blue eyes.

SYDOR/RYDOS

Sydor was a High One who found Winnowill on an island after Tyldak dropped her off. Sydor fought with Winnowill over who controlled the Wavedancers and in the end lost to her. He had wheat colored hair and blue-green eyes.

TENTUS

Tentus is the oldest living Wavedancer at the time of these stories. He lived as a hermit, so much so he recrafted the entrance to his cave constantly to thwart visitors. Tentus was a rockshaper who shaped the Wavedancers version of "egg" with the tribe's history. He had white hair, gray eyes and a silvery tail.

TILAWEED

Tilaweed was perhaps the most beautiful of all the original Wavedancers. She had long blonde hair and light green eyes. She was the Recognized lifemate of Hyfus and the mother of Illora, who was stolen by the Curse of Recognition. Tilaweed was thought to be unshaken by the loss of her daughter, rather she preferred to express her sorrow in private. She had a blue-green tail with red tipped fins.

ZADORI

Zadori was the lifemate of Burdekin and was slight in size. She had short silver hair and blue eyes.
