EMBER & TEIR
|
Ember is the daughter of Cutter and Leetah and the twin sister of Suntop. When she and Suntop were still growing inside Leetah's womb, it was Ember who pulled the wolfblood to her and Suntop who pulled the immortal Sun Villagers blood to him. Since her birth, Ember has been destined to become the next chieftess of the Wolfriders. She was born at the Sorrow's End, and grew up there until she was about eight turns old when her father left to find other elves. Her brother received a message from Savah and he, Ember, Leetah and most of the rest of the Wolfriders left Sorrow's End to follow Cutter and Skywise on their quest. Ember traveled with a child's curiousity often causing the tribe to scold her until she learned when it was appropriate to speak and when not to. She has never had a problem with speaking her mind though during council meetings. It was Ember who suggested that Strongbow apologize to Kureel for killing him when the healing circle didn't work. Ember was often jealous of her brother because of his "magic feelings" and thought that she got the short end of the stick. She learned later that she had her own kind of magic when she returned to Sorrow's End with the Palace of the High Ones with Leetah. There she met Mender for the first time and fell in love with him and both of his sides - his savage Wolfrider side and his gentle Sun Villager side. She understood him and what he spoke of and allowed him to comfort her when she learned that her childhood hiding place had been destroyed in Ahdri's rockshaping to protect the village. When the Shards War started, Cutter gave Ember her own sword, a symbol of her chieftainship and told her to choose which members of the tribe would follow her to safety. She choose Moonshade - to be her elder, Nightfall and Redlance - to be her hunters, Pike - to be her storyteller, Tyleet, Dewshine and Scouter and the new life within Tyleet - to perpetuate the tribe, Skywise - the one Cutter told her to take, and her mother - to be her healer. She choose her mother rather than Mender, because she felt she needed to be taught she-wolf softness. During Ember's new chieftainship she learned how to listen to all the members of her tribe and how to make everyone feel a part of the tribe. Her first few cycles of the moon were difficult, battling hallucination-inducing bugs, shapechanged animals, and trying to find a new home for her tribe. She survived the ordeals and found Howling Rock and the original inhabitant of it - Teir. Ember fell for him almost instantly and tried to win over Skywise to her side. It is said that they are supposed to Recognize each other and have even spoken to Mender and Leetah about inducing Recognition, but Ember said she felt it was wrong for a chieftess to have a cub in that way. Ember has fiery red hair, blue eyes and reminds the tribe of Skyfire.
Reclusive, little is known about Teir. He lived at Howling Rock for turns upon turns before Ember and her tribe came there and decided to stay after they arrived. He has the ability to "become" animals by thinking like them. Teir started to teach Ember this technique before they left with the Palace. Teir's past is largely unknown, however he does own a Troll War sword, which he acquired from his father, indicating that he may have Go-Back running in his veins. Teir has a browned body, long black hair, which is always braided and brown eyes. He calls Ember "K'Chaiya" which may be her soulname, but it is not known at this time. Ember and Teir's relationship has developed quickly recently with him bringing her back after Scouter's challenge and her removal as chieftess. Since that time, they have been inseparable. |
