MENDER

Mender is the youngest son of Rainsong and Woodlock and the first Wolfrider to be born in Sorrow's End. Rainsong decided to stay at the Village when Leetah left because she felt the magic within the cub and knew that he would be able to help the Village while Leetah was gone. Mender is the brother of Newstar and Wing and the grandson of Rain the healer.

He spent most of his life at the Sun Village, becoming their healer while Leetah was with Cutter and the Wolfriders. After the Battle for the Little Palace (Round 1) Mender became more aware of his feral side and caused many wounds that he also later healed. When Leetah, Shenshen, Suntop and Venka returned to Sorrow's End for a visit, Ember stole on board the Palace also and meet Mender at the Village for the first time. They were instantly attracted to one another and Mender comforted her when she found out that her childhood hiding place had been destroyed by Ahdri's rockshaping.

After that the two became a pair and were inseparable until Cutter gave Ember her own "tribe" during the Shards War. It was then that Ember spoke up, saying that she needed some time away from him, to find herself and learn how to be softer - he left with Cutter's group to fight the Djun.

While traveling with the elves up Citadel Mound, Mender was injured by a human with a crossbow, taking a bolt in the chest. Much to the surprise of the trolls with them, he never made a sound and healed himself of the wound after Aroree pulled the bolt free. Later, after the elves rescue Shuna from the Djun, Krim is injured when the roof of a house caves in and Zhantee tries to shield them. While healing her she fights him, saying that she wants to follow Skot, but Mender won't let her, telling her that she is with cub.

Once the Palace was restored, the elves traveled to Howling Rock to retrieve Ember and her tribe and Mender went to her after she greeted her father. She had grown up dramatically and he noticed a quiet longing in her from a recent farewell. Mender agreed to continue to follow her in all things and does not press the issue.

Mender is currently with the Wild Hunt, cleaning up the remains of Winnowill's distorted creatures with the help of Pool and his magic abilities to seek the creatures out. He and Ember are sometimes still together, although now she prefers Teir and he has agreed to help the two of them have a child is she so desires. She has yet to fully agree to that, stating that it is not the way for her. More recently he has paired up with Yun.

The last we see of Mender for now is after he shapechanges himself to appear human and enters the human world.
