RAIN Rain was the healer for the Wolfriders during the time of Bearclaw. He was the father of Pike and Rainsong and possibly of Shale. He is shown grieving over Shale's body after he is killed by the humans along with Brownberry. It is speculated that Brownberry may be Shale's mother by induced Recognition. Rain was killed by Madcoil and was the first to fall that night, unable to help the other Wolfriders in their battle against Madcoil. Pike was Rain's first attempt at inducing Recognition, a feat later accomplished by Leetah with Redlance and Nightfall in the conception of Tyleet. I've always wondered if Rain attempted the induced Recognitions because of the low numbers of tribemates during the later half of Bearclaw's chieftainship. The tribe during Freefoot's time was huge and it slowly dwindled down to the seventeen elves that remained when the holt burned down. It is also speculated that since the "healer's blood" follows family bloodlines in Wolfriders that Rain is the grandson of
