Grimer
Name: Grimer
Bios: Grimer is Robotnik’s head scientist and technician and also his unofficial second in command, certainly his right hand man. Grimer is responsible for the Trooper Badniks and for creating some of Robotnik’s most deadly machines, such as Predicto, Vermin, Brutus, Metallix, and the Death Egg. Grimer’s only known relation is his cousin, Slimy, and his main intention is complete servitude to his master, no matter how any bumps and bruises he takes as physical abuse for his failures, such as the rogue Cybernik Shortfuse and the constant failure of Metamorphia.
Grimer has created many machines for Robotnik, including a cannon-line apparatus that temporarily gave Robotnik Sonic’s powers, the main thrusters for the Death Egg, the simulation of what the Death Egg would be capable of, and the giant Robotnikcon One Badnik processing facility. He also created Predicto, a member of the Grimer created Special Badnik Service, who was able to predict and counter all the actions of the Freedom Fighters, and the titanic dinosaur Mekanik. Grimer was kidnapped by the Brotherhood Of Metallix and forced to create the Alpha Device, which would turn natural land into mechanical ground, this forced a partnership between Sonic and Robotnik to stop the Brotherhood and retrieve Grimer.
As revenge for this humiliation, Robotnik ordered Grimer to create the perfect Trooper with which Robotnik could download his own personality into. Thus was born Brutus, who eventually grew ideas of his own about conquering Mobius and led an unsuccessful revolution against Robotnik. After Sonic travelled through time to stop the Brotherhood Of Metallix from taking over the future, Grimer began work on an updated Metallix model in order to alleviate his master’s feelings of regret about the unstable product that was Metallix.
When Robotnik learned the location of the missing Emerald Hill folk (who had been taken away in secret to the Floating Island), he went to turn them all into a gigantic, living computer, and left Grimer in charge of operations in Metropolis City. Grimer immediately went on a power trip, making life even harder on the citizens. That is, however, until Sonic returned and brought Robotnik’s empire to its knees following an Electromagnetic Pulse that knocked out all of Robotnik’s control. Grimer saw this as the end, but Robotnik ensured him it was just the beginning and the two re-located to Flickie’s Island.
However, soon after Sonic found them, a Drakon Prosecutor took Robotnik away to stand trial. But Robotnik manipulated the Drakon into allowing him to return to Mobius and force Sonic into a death-match with Grimer’s new Knuckles Metallix, which was subsequently destroyed by Sonic and Tails. In a dramatic turn of events, Grimer turned on Robotnik and aligned himself with the Drakon Empire to storm the Floating Island and steal back the Chaos Emeralds. But it was all an elaborate scheme by Robotnik and carried out by Grimer to allow Robotnik to absorb the power of the Chaos Emeralds and turn himself into a God, however he was tricked and defeated by Sonic and Knuckles.
Grimer spent the next few months locked in Metropolis City Prison. However this was also a ruse as he had took the prison over and used it as a base of operations to find out what happened to his master following his defeat. After hacking into the Kintobor Computer and turned it evil in a bid to plant an untraceable monitoring device in Sonic’s Emerald Hill base, Grimer to discovered the micro-universe of Shanazar, where he travelled with Nack The Weasel, only to find Robotnik had reverted back to Ovi Kintobor. Grimer thus returned to jail on Shanazar. But not for long, as Kintobor reverted back and this time it was for good. Robotnik freed Grimer and the two of them merged Shanazar with Mobius, creating an all-new, dimension-crossing Planet. Grimer and Robotnik fled deep into one of the new Zones created by this merger and built a new Fortress, hidden away, where they unleashed new enemies such as Splitzoid upon the Freedom Fighters.
Robotnik soon formed an alliance with the Plax that led to him draining and absorbing the life energy from Mobius into himself, a plot thwarted by Sonic and Shortfuse. It was after this that Robotnik fell into a deep depression because of his constant failures and it was around this time that Grimer began to suspect that Robotnik had truly become insane. However, in a bid to raise his master’s spirits, Grimer unleashed Chaos. Robotnik became interested in seeing the destruction of Mobius and lifted no finger to stop Perfect Chaos after Grimer attracted it to their Fortress. Angered by Robotnik’s complete lack of humanity and his unwillingness to even try to help, Grimer officially quit and walked out shortly after Chaos was defeated.
His whereabouts remain unknown.
