In 1994, Zero Hour happened, and Guy was changed forever. Guy gained his vuldarian powers after donning as suit of armor for a while, so a new look was required for a new Guy. Beau Smith's writing made Guy a badass, but with awesome powers, too. Mitch Byrd's hulking, muscular people and intensely creative costumes made the comic a creative dish. The inking was great as well. This new look brought Guy from "second-rate Green Lantern" to "my own man with one hell of a power", as Guy "said" in his message boards.
