The Day Makoi had Ruined Our Lives!!!

What I am about to tell you is something that I wouldn't even wish upon my worst enemy! Matt, Chris and I were expecting a roommate by the name of Norman Tumpkin, but he never showed. However, in his place came MAKOI!!! Surprisingly, GVSU thought it would be a great idea to set three 20-something students up with a 41 year old Sudanian who has his own 14 year old daughter. When he arrived, he saw fit to turn the heat up to Sahara temperatures. I don't think I ever fell asleep, rather pass out from Heat Exhaustion.

In the bathroom, he brought Act for Kids for his personal use. His daughter didn't even live with us! There was also a stick in the bathroom. We don't know what it was for, but there was a stick!!! Also, he cleaned his hair in the sink and wiped it dry with toilet paper. TOILET PAPER!!!

The cooking was horrendous! No matter what he cooked, it had too much garlic in it. I remember walking in the apartment one day and being able to smell it. If you know me, I can't smell anything unless it is very strong or powerful. I'd have to open the window just to be able to breathe!

However, this is one of the distrubing images I have shown in our apartment:

The Matress in the Living Room

I can remember the morning well. I had woken up for class and noticed that it was hot as Hell in the apartment! As I walked downstairs, I saw that the chair was moved in front of the sliding glass door. When I looked to see where the chair was, I saw it. I couldn't believe the sight. Makoi explain to me that it was too cold in the room. TOO COLD!!! He had only one blanket and never wore socks around the house. Besides, it was over 80 degrees in the house. Oh, don't squint your eyes, that is a...

Thomas the Tank Engine Pillow

Don't ask me why a grown man has a Thomas the Tank Engine Pillow, but Makoi did!

However, on January 26, 2005, our salvation had arrived! As I walked into the apartment after my Spanish Exam, I noticed all of Makoi's stuff was in the first floor. At first, I thought he was moving everything downstairs, but he told me that he was moving out! We then all rejoiced as things returned to normal!!!

Where the matress used to be!
