Challenges

Okay writers, ever feel like writing yet not know what to write about? Well, I know I have. It's called the dreaded Writer's Block.

Hopefully these challenges might help you break out of that block. If not, they breed what's known as plot bunnies, which are normal looking little cute rabbits that sit there all nice like and stare at you with their floppy ears and cute pink noses quivering until you pay attention to them (Fuzzyblue sent me these, aren't they adorable?!). Then they attack like nothing you've ever seen outside Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail. They're vicious I tell you!

Scenario Challenge: Write a story based on the following scenarios. Any genre, any rating
1) A day at the park
2) dining in a restaurant
3) Going to the bank

Write something that has the following phrases: "You're mine." "Don't touch that." and "Wanna bet?"

And Now For Something Completely Different (can you tell I love Python yet?): Write something that you normally wouldn't. Go for comedy if you're one to do heavy angst, or vice versa. Do a romance instead of an action story, mystery instead of science fiction. Whatever it is, just break out of your regular routine.

The Word Fic: Grab your handy dandy dictionary (a writer's best friend), and open it up. Now close your eyes and flip to a random page. Pick whatever word your finger happens to land on and do a story centered around it. Whatever genre.

Ya Love to Hate 'Em: You know those characters (if writing a fanfic, or maybe even your own original ones) that you just love to hate? The ones that you bash left and right whenever you get the chance? Well, take those characters and put them in a story where you play nice with them. Write them in a flattering light and no bashing allowed.

Cue the Death Scene: Take your favorite character and kill them off. Do it any way you choose, be it funny or sad or downright disturbing, honorable death or maybe a not so honorable one, you pick it.

It's Sillyfic Time!: Yeppers, here's a challenge where you use these words somehow in a story/fanfic.
Rubber chicken
Garden hose
Spam
Bustier
Ice cream man and his truck

Where the sentence takes you: Do a story in whatever genre you'd like, but it has to begin with the sentence "Looking back, getting out of bed was the biggest mistake of the day."
