He Said, She Said
There are always rumors at the work place. They can be fun and harmless. Others
can just destroy a person with one word.
Nikita did his best to ignore the rumors. He didn’t have time for office drama
like that. Why would he when he had his sexy wife at home? Nikita sat typing
away at his computer when a chat box popped up on his screen.
“Hm?” he asked. It looked like it came from Olga. What would she want with him?
Nikita clicked accept to chat. Only one question popped up.
“Is it true?”
“Is what true?” Nikita typed. Olga started typing.
“Did you sleep with [name]?” she wrote back. (We’re keeping the woman’s name out
of this for the time being.) Nikita wrinkled his nose.
“What? No. Why would I do that?” he wrote back. There was a pause for a moment.
Then Olga started typing again.
“Oh,” she wrote back.
“Why? What is she saying?” Nikita wrote. There was a pause before Olga logged
off. The man frowned at his screen. Hm.
“That was weird,” Nikita said to himself. He closed out of the chat box and went
back to work. Should have been the end of that, right?
Well…
-----------
By afternoon, Nikita had many eyes on him. Female eyes, to be exact. And they
were all glaring at him. The man had a confused look on his face. Okay… What was
this? He made his way back to his desk. One woman walked by and snorted at him.
“Uh… hello?” he asked. She turned and walked off.
“Okay…” Nikita said. He noticed Stefan walking up to him.
“Hey,” he said. His friend couldn’t hold back anymore.
“Okay, what the hell is going on?” the business man asked. Stefan’s eyes shifted
back and forth for a moment. Nikita raised eyebrow.
“Stefan?” he asked.
“Do you know [name]?” he asked.
“Yes…” Nikita said. Stefan looked around before leaning in close.
“She’s claims that you are having an affair with her,” he whispered. “She thinks
that she’s pregnant by you and you’re denying it.”
“What?!” I asked. All eyes fell on me. I looked around, throwing up my hands up
in the air.
“There’s nothing to see here!” I shouted. “I am not cheating on my wife!” No one
said a word. Nikita frowned.
“Whatever,” he muttered to himself as he sat down.
“You okay?” Stefan asked. Nikita gave him a cold look.
“What do you think?” he asked.
“Oh…” his friend said. Nikita sighed and rubbed his forehead. What the hell is
this? That woman. She’s always had a crush on him ever since he started working
at Lilo’s. Nikita never paid much attention to her because she wasn’t his type.
Still, he had to be nice to her. Better to build connections in the workplace,
right? However, she must have taken it the wrong way.
The man sat back in his chair. He had his hand pressed to his forehead.
“Now what?” Stefan asked. Nikita lowered his hand.
“I don’t know,” he said. But then an idea came into his head.
“Hang on,” he said. Stefan cocked an eyebrow.
“What?” he asked. His friend turned to him with a wild grin on his face.
“Nikita?” Stefan asked.
“You know something?” his friend asked. “I’m going to have a talk with [name],”
he said. The other man frowned.
“You sure that’s a good idea?” he asked.
“Why yes,” Nikita said. “Why wouldn’t it be?” He didn’t give his friend a chance
to answer. Nikita rose to his feet.
“In fact,” he said. “I know where to find her right now.” Nikita walked out of
the office.
“Nikita?” Stefan asked after him. The other businessman ignored all eyes on him
as he smirked to himself. He was going to turn this rumor mill in his favor and
make things in the bedroom with Mai that much more interesting.
Nikita never paid any attention to the rumors. But this might be the exception
for a change.
