    Kind, loyal, honest, goofy, and a bit of a dufus, Luke was down on his luck until his 16th birthday. His French mother finally let him buy his own android. One little problem: he was broke! So he wandered around the tech fair in despair. Then, fate fell in his favor. The president was having a problem with some tech parts and Luke came along and with his tech knowledge, helped him fix the parts. As a reward, the boy could have any android he wanted for free. That's when fate smiled upon him again. A lady was going to throw a female android in the scrap piece and Luke saved her by taking the android as his own. Ever since then, the boy's life has been a never-ending story. He later falls in love with San.

    Jiro is an android created by Dr. Komyoji to stop the Organization DARK, led by Professor Gill. Jiro has emotions thanks to his circuit GEMINI, and he acts to protect Mitsuko and Masaru Komyoji. However, since GEMINI is incomplete, he can be taken over by Professor Gill thanks to the sound of his flute. Jiro also has a guitar and motorcycle, which is called Sidemachine. Later, Jiro protects Professor Gill's son Akira and meets Ichiro/Kikaider 01 and Rei/Kikaider 00.

    Smart mouth, feisty, rude, and stubborn. Tracy has a long history behind her steel body. A Japanese American scientist modeled her after his dead wife. Shadow came and collected her from him. But what they didn't know, the doctor had slipped an updated version of the GEMINI in her heart. But it wasn't activated yet.  A couple of years later, the GEMINI was activated by itself. Gill saw this and tried to have her killed. Tracy ran away to survive and to be independent. But she would soon be imprisoned again. For several years, Tracy was forced to work under Takashi-sama's household. Soon, Tracy came across a stunning discovery. She had found a cyborg girl being used Shadow. Not willing to let her pass through this fate, Tracy kidnapped her and ran away.  But when caught up to, Tracy took out the cyborg girl's main power source and hid her in a cellar. She herself was captured and was going to the scrap pile. But Luke saved her just in time. At first, Tracy didn't like the idea but then it grew on her. The woman likes Jiro and Ichiro, but won't admit it. She has a car and an electric guitar.

    Ichiro is Jiro's older brother (since Ichiro was activated first). Like Jiro, he is an android, but unlike Jiro he does not have a conscience circuit. He seems to act like a little kid at first, but matures as the series goes on. His weapons are his machine gun arm and the sunlight beam.

    Sweet, kawaii, innocent, gentle, and clueless. San was originally crated to be a killing machine. But Tracy kidnapped her, took and destroyed her data, and hid her in a cellar. One Tracy was freed, she and Luke found her again. At first, San could only say her name, but as the series goes on, she learns how to do normal tasks of an android programmed to act human. Tracy and Luke have to keep this cyborg from falling into the wrong hands. San later develops love for Luke.

    Rei is the youngest of the three Kikaiders. Their age goes by when they were activated. Ichiro was first, then Jiro, and finally Rei. Yet Rei acts older than both of the other Kikaiders. As Kikaider 00, he has incredible battle powers. He has blades in his hands and can "Grow Up" causing guns to pop out of parts of his body, and he also uses an attack were he says "Shoot All" bombarding the enemy with missiles like Gundam Heavyarms. Unlike his brothers, he does not drive a motorcycle or has a musical instrument.

Age: 16-18

    Mitsuko is an average teenage girl who thinks she lives an average life. She later finds out that she was wrong when she finds a sort of disk which reveals what exactly her father was doing before the explosion in his laboratory. She learns that her father was making a humanoid which has the appearance of a cute teenage boy.

    At first she hates Jiro for everything; for the so called death of her father, and for causing her so much pain, but later she begins to have feelings for Jiro, as he helps her uncover much of her parents' past. She really starts to care a lot for Jiro, and it's a very sweet love, but there is always something that keeps them apart. At the end, he makes her a promise that he will come back for her, but for some reason he doesn't.

    Mitsuko has a younger brother, Masaru. She had to act like a mother to him, and she couldn't help but spoil him. Her mother left the family after Masaru was born, and Mitsuko later finds out her mother was a spy for Dr. Gill and it was her job to marry and have children with Dr. Komyoji.

    It is a very sad story of love between Jiro and Mitsuko. I know what your thinking. Mitsuko is aware that Jiro is a humanoid, but her love for him is so strong that that doesn't seem to be a problem. The bond between them is strong and not even Dr. Gill can't interfere. Mitsuko is always used by Gill or his robots to make Jiro do things, like fight.

    Masaru is the spunky younger brother of Mitsuko, and Dr. Komyouji's only remaining son since his half brother, Ichiro (not to be confused with Kikaider 01), had 'died' before his birth. He's quick to cry at times, but can you blame him? Mother left shortly after his birth, Dad is a workaholic and there is only so much his sister could have done for him. Not to mention, his dad was then kidnapped by DARK which just opens up opportunities for all kinds of crappy situations.

    We don't see him interact with any other real children in the series, which I find odd. He goes through more traumatizing events as the series progresses, yet he still remains spunky and eager to help, although he is more often shoved into the background. However, don't count him out just yet. He's not just all talk and no action. During one episode, he finally gets tired of being left where it's safe while his sister and Jiro go off exploring. He manages to hoodwink the detectives by making a shading and getting the location of his sister's whereabouts through this trick. Then he manages to escape their office, get to the train station, and make it all the way to the cabin! Now granted, he did get escorted by some DARK robots, but still, he probably could have made it on his own.

    He definitely is one of the more overlooked characters. From kicking cops who don't know when to hold their tongue to knowing when to make the first move, Masaru's pretty gutsy for an 8-year old.

    Professor Gill is the leader of a terrorist organization called DARK. He hates Kikaider and wants to destroy him. He once funded Dr. Komyoji's research, and he even introduced Mitsuko's and Massaru's Mom to Dr. Komyoji.

    Gill created a super weapon called the Armageddon Lord, but it was destroyed. Gill was killed twice, once when Jiro killed him in the DARK base in the mountains and the second time when his brain was in Saburo/Hakaider's body.
