During a power outage, a man finds inside a cave the weird electrical creature The Blip, who explains that he was travelling through space and became weak. Coming to earth to recharge, he hopes to return on his mission. However, a group of townsfolk find him and thinking he's a monster, attack him and the man who they now believe a traitor. The Blip fights off the mob, then explains to them that his race has evolved beyond violence, and that Earth will not share in his secrets, as they've proven themselves mere animals. Recharged, he flies into the heavens.

Later, a robotic duplicate of The Blip was used by the alien Xemnu in an attack on the Hulk.

When the demon called Nightmare invaded the dreams of a young Peter Parker (the future Spider-Man), he used several monsters to attack Parker, including The Blip.

A second Blip arrived on earth and was captured/contained by Frank Johnson, but it, along with a group of monsters, came to life again. He was seemingly destroyed by the Fantastic Four.
