The scientist, Mark Langley, did the unthinkable, and sent yet another signal to Goom's planet. His fellow earthlings thought him mad and ordered his execution for treason. Before the order could be carried out, though, a spaceship arrived, and several members of Goom's race emerged. They then explained that Goom was a criminal on their planet, and took him back into their custody and away from the Earth. Mark explained to his fellow humans that he had surmised the rest of Goom's race had to be peaceful, as they were so technologically advanced.

Though Goom was taken captive, he left behind his son, Googam.

Later, a robotic duplicate of Goom was used by the alien Xemnu in an attack on the Hulk.
