After landing on earth in his spacecraft, the alien wood-monster Groot goes on a rampage that is only stopped when the scientist Evans thinks of infecting the monster with a batch of termites.

Later, a robotic duplicate of Groot was used by the alien Xemnu in an attack on the Hulk.
