After an unwitting archaeologist uncovers a hidden control panel near the Great Sphinx, he accidentally brings it to life. It swallows him, revealing itself to be a giant robot. As it rampages across the land, the human reveals that he tripped the control panel, and it was not a signal from Shagg's alien race to start the invasion. Shagg, knowing he can't conquer humanity by himself, wipes mankind's memory of him and resumes his post as the motionless statue Sphinx.
