In 2020, when Professor Renolds creates a massive, all-knowing computer called The Colossus, his creation is given rule over the earth. However, many humans would come to distrust the machine, and it seemed their fears were called for when the computer built a giant humanoid robot that then emerged. It was quickly destroyed by humans who saw it as a rampaging war machine. The Colossus then revealed mankind's folly, as it was close to breaking down, and had created the giant in human form to house all of its information and to ease human fears by putting them in a man-shaped form.
