While cleaning out the basement, Joe comes across some photos from his bachelor days. The rest of the movie takes place in flashback, as he recalls how Alice's family roped him into marriage with Alice.
This is another of those shorts that's more funny/cute than funny/ha-ha. As Alice McDoakes (nee Peckinpah), Phyllis Coates is so vulnerable and endearing, you find yourself wondering if she couldn't do better than a schmuck like Joe. It's rather amusing, though, to see how quickly Alice's family has all of the pre-marriage obligations (physical, signed certificate, etc.) set up in advance.
