SO YOU WANT TO BE ON A JURY

(orig. released May 7, 1955)

Joe and his workmate Homer (Jackson Wheeler) are on a jury that is deciding the fate of their boss as the defendant. Unfortunately, the prosecution in this case is a ruthless gangster. If the jury decides in favor of the gangster, the boss is out $200,000; if they decide the other way, Joe and Homer might not get out with their lives. What's a fast talker like Homer to do?

12 Angry Men this definitely isn't; the other 10 jurors are awfully easily swayed by Homer's wishy-washy speeches in favor of first the boss, then the gangster. But it's amusing throughout and leads up to a very funny finale.

(Trivia For the first time in the McDoakes series, George O'Hanlon shares a "starring" credit [with Jackson Wheeler]. I guess all of those other supporting players such as Phyllis Coates, Clifton Young, Arthur Q. Bryan, et al, never deserved one before now, eh?)
