SO YOU WANT TO BE A POLICEMAN

(orig. released Dec. 17, 1955)

Elmer Fudd, er, Arthur Q. Bryan rhymingly narrates the story of Joe's first and only day on the motor patrol.

I always remember what the late columnist Lewis Grizzard said about policemen: "Don't ever play with the cops. They have guns, they have tasers, and they have radios so they can call in more guys who have guns and tasers." With that in mind, it's almost painful to watch Joe roll over every time some non-law-abiding citizen gives him grief. Some scattered laughs throughout (best gag: Joe driving a huge shrub as camouflage), but a peg or so down from Laurel & Hardy in The Midnight Patrol (1933).
