Joe's wife nags him to buy a new car. But he has only $500 to spare, so he heads for Cagey's Used Car Lot.
Joe McDoakes and a used-car salesman -- hoo, brother! You can see where this is going almost as quickly as the guys at the used-car lot can. That said, it's still a hilarious outing, with McDoakes veteran Ted Stanhope playing it up big as the guy who's determined to sell Joe a lemon. Some of the gags (like the cars themselves) are as old as the hills. But when you see the salesman go to a slot marked "Contracts" and roll out Joe's paperwork from it like it's a sheet of toilet paper...well, either you love this short or you don't. Count me in.
