Joe's wife Alice (Phyllis Coates) wants a new oven for her birthday. Joe buys an oven wholesale and manages to get 15 percent off (a minor miracle, considering that Ralph Nelson ["Yesssss?"] is the salesman). But then Joe's neighbor Marvin (Rodney Bell) says he can get Joe an oven at 25 percent off. So Joe gets the first oven returned and goes to get the second oven. Before long, Joe is dealing with a sleazy hot-oven salesman (Ted Stanhope, reprising his sleazy used-car salesman from three shorts ago).
What Joe won't do to save a buck. This short is a little labored at points, but any comedy with Ralph Nelson can't be all bad.
