Synopsis:
Golden Boy is about Kintaro Oe, a 25-year old boy travelling around Japan on his trusty bicycle the Mikazuki 5 taking a wide variety of temporary jobs to learn new things about life and writes them on his notebook. On his adventures not only he meets new jobs, but he also meets lots of beautiful girls as well.

Review:
It's hard to like Kintaro Oe at first because he's brainless, perverted, stupid and doesn't seem to posses any talent. But as time passes by, you'll find out that Kintaro is not that kind of a guy. He is really smart but he doesn't really shows it. He is a Law graduate from Tokyo University but he left the school before graduation (what a moron). He might act like a total maniac at times but he doesn't do nasty things (every guy can be perverted sometimes don't you think?). He respects all the ladies he meets in a gentleman-like manner. He does kind things for the sake of the people he knows. He is a very reliable person to consult with when it comes in times of troubles and problems. I am very sure you girls will like Kintaro.

I really, really enjoyed watching Golden Boy even if it takes me to watch it a million times. Be warned that the comedy of Golden Boy are mostly green related. The episode I really enjoyed watching the most is episode two, "Temptation of the Maiden", every minute or even every second guarantees you a laughing good time and I find the Mayor's lovely daughter Naoko very cute. "Temptation of the Maiden" is the naughtiest episode among the six episodes, so prepare to see some skin (keep in mind, some). Episode 1: "Computer Studies" is the second naughtiest episode for me. Kintaro's boss wears a sexy, showy, thin-layered outfit. Her n*ppl*s can be almost seen behind the cloth (see Golden Boy CD cover above). Episode 4: "Swimming in the Sea of Love" is the third naughtiest episode. The chief instructor of the swimming school wears also a very thin-layered bathing suit (I think you can guess what's showy on her). Episode 5: "B@lls to the Wall!" equals the naughtiness of episode one. It's all about a mysterious biker named Reiko. Kintaro gets to have sex with her if he can beat her in a race with his Mikazuki 5 against Reiko's motorcycle. Hmm... a motorcycle versus a bike... who will win? Episode five wins the most exciting episode, thanks to the action-packed racing. Expect some nudity also in episode five so this episode is not just for everybody. Episode 3: "Danger! The Virgin's First Love" and Episode 6: "Animation is Fun" wins the cleanest episodes. It only contains few sex-related jokes, so this episode is suitable for everybody.

The animation is excellent. Everything are so detailed, from Kintaro's bike to his notebook to all the pretty girls he meets to the backgrounds of places he stumbles upon to the funny facial expression he makes. The movements are so smooth like running water. The character designs are attractive; of course since the designs are from the renowned Toshihiro Kawamoto who is also the character designer of Cowboy Bebop. Kintaro's millions of faces are very, very funny. Like I have mentioned before, the comedies are green related but not hentai (well, just a little). The fan service is unique. Not just it only caters on the male fantasy but in the female fantasy as well (very little only girls). The music themes are all catchy especially the ending theme "Study a Go Go!" done by cute-voiced girl singers. The English dubbing is excellent. I have never stumbled upon an English dubbed anime that beats the subtitled version. Everybody is remarkably well casted. If you ask me, go for the English dubbing. Kintaro's voice is very, very funny. If you are fond listening to the performances of popular anime seiyuus in an anime series, you won't find them here. No popular seiyuus are present here in Golden Boy. The ending is a little open-ended but it concludes finely.

The bottom line is, this is a very good anime. An absolute masterpiece, done by some people responsible for Cowboy Bebop. My only qualm for this anime is for its shortness, only six episodes. If you don't get a chance to see Golden Boy, I really feel sorry for you as missing this anime is like missing your arms and legs.
