A FEW MORE
PROBLEMS...
Pollution, and the damage it has done to the earth’s surface, is definitely a
big problem, but it is not our only one, nor our worst. Medical advances over the past century have enabled us to
cure, or at least hold at bay, some of humanity’s worst
diseases. Breakthroughs in all fields of the biological sciences are enabling us to save the lives of children who may
have otherwise died at birth, while on the opposite end of the spectrum they’re allowing our elderly to live longer,
enjoying a richer, fuller life. How nice for us!
Overpopulation means that we have to produce more food to
feed the many mouths gaping hungrily throughout our society, this requires extra land. We must also shelter these poor souls and, unfortunately, this ALSO requires extra
land, and, despite what you may have heard, as increasing amounts of land are used for the one, so does land that
would be used for the other dwindle, we can’t have both... there just isn’t enough room! We’re facing, on a global
scale, the problem that China has been trying to deal with over the past couple of decades, even to the point of
regulating childbirth!
