Observers have discovered a second titular position among the SkySnails
- that of the DoomSnail. The DoomSnail accompanies the King or Queen at
all times, and is responsible for always putting the worst possible spin
on any given prophecy. This position is non-hereditary, and is generally
'awarded' to the single most irritating snail in the community. It is theorized
that this office of scapegoat was originally intended to alleviate the
King or Queen of at least some of the less pleasant aspects of omniscience.
Now, however, the DoomSnail seems to function as an all-around smartass.
DoomSnails are easily recognized by the insipid - yet immensely grating
- quality of their voices.
Though the Skysnails maintain cordial relationships
with the priesthoods of the various Zodiac Temples, it is still unclear
what the exact extent of their allegiances are. To quote another SkySnail
proverb: 'Don't wear your name on your forehead.'
