First, Gnomes in General
First, gnomes range anywhere in height from 8" - 12". There are the few that come bigger and smaller like any species.
Second, gnomes live in tunnels that they make close to a half mile to a mile beneath the earths crust and built the tunnels more than 5000 years ago when humans lived peacefully with gnomes. They come to the surface for rituals, and some species, although rare live hidden above the crust.
Third, Gnome surnames come first, and first name come last and change the last name. For example a human name of Johnny B. Good would be written as Good B. Johnny. And say that Johnny had a brother Alexander... his name would be written Good B. Alexander. They do this because a lot of people have the same lets call it "first name" and people address the family name first. This is quite confusing the first time I heard it so don't worry if you are confused. One of the most odd things is that gnomes although backwards share a lot of the same names with humans. I think this is because of the direct interventiong from gnomes and humans, but i havenot asked yet. That will come later.
Fourth, gnomes do not wear pointy hats. I asked them about that and they just looked at me like I was insane. I was just wondering.
