First Shots!

Included here are a number of Mattel test shots, also called first shots. These non-production pieces were basically experiments to see that the mold for the figures turned out well and if the plastic would work for the figures. These items are from the collection of James Gallo, owner of TheToyHeaven.com. You just might be able to find a few Secret Wars items there on his online store. Pictured here are combination pieces that include test shots combined with production pieces. For instance, Captain America has a test head and legs, the rest was taken from a production figure to give you a clearer picture of the figure and how it turned out. The Spider-Man only has the test head and legs. There is also a “tree” of black spidey legs pictured as well.
