The Iceman!

Iceman. A supremely tough find. You will not find this figure anywhere for cheap. He’s a pretty lame figure really-though the paint is actually cool in a weird way. I mean since he’s only one color except for 2 dots for eyes and a belt. Still, the 1st incarnation of Bobby Drake in action figure form. When you add on the fact that he is, and was ridiculously tough to find even when it came out; you end up with a very sought after action figure.

You see, he was only available in places not here in America! Constrictor, Electro, and Iceman were all part of the planned 3rd series for Secret Wars. However, the line was hitting rock bottom pretty quickly here in the United States, and so Mattel decided to dump the product that they’d already made into the foreign markets. This resulted in the complete desire for them in America by the collectors who’d already snatched up the rest of the line here.

The Heroes Gift Set interestingly is the only Secret Wars product to feature these foreign figures on the packaging. Even the foreign carded figures themselves made no reference to themselves on the packaging other than their biography and names on the front.
